The distribution’s mission statement is, “GeckoLinux is a set of Linux spins built from the openSUSE distribution, with a focus on polish and out-of-the-box usability on the desktop.”It had been a while since I last tested GeckoLinux, so I downloaded the Pantheon spin to see what was what. You’ll also find spins for the following desktops:CinnamonXFCEGNOMEPlasmaMateLXQtBudgieNote that those are all rolling releases (which means they’re always the latest version).My immediate reaction was that the developers had succeeded in the quest for polish and usability. From my experience with the Pantheon spin, I’d go so far to say that GeckoLinux is just as user-friendly as Linux Mint and Ubuntu. That’s not to say it’s perfect. There’s one area where I believe the developers could improve the desktop experience (more on that in a bit).
