With the holiday season and Thanksgiving on the horizon, a handful of companies have already launched early Black Friday deals — and Surfshark isn’t missing out on the action.
The virtual private network (VPN) service’s basic plan has been on sale for some time, priced at $1.99/month. However, it’s the second tier we are interested in — Surfshark One<!–>, which combines VPN access, antivirus, a data breach scanner, and secure search functionality, all for only $2.19/month.
To sweeten the deal, three months of free service are added to the length of two-year contracts.

I’ve been testing Surfshark for years, and have frequently rated this VPN as one of the best on the market. It’s consistently affordable and provides users with an attractive user interface across major platforms – including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS – and is very beginner-friendly. (Read our full Surfshark VPN review here.)
Surfshark offers around 100 locations in its server network. Unlike some of its competitors, it also provides unlimited simultaneous connections, which means that you can connect as many devices as you want to the VPN’s network, without restriction. The only real downside is that Surfshark can be a little slow to connect and doesn’t reach the same speeds as ExpressVPN–> or NordVPN<!–>, but considering its price point, it still provides excellent value for money. There’s also a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Surfshark’s antivirus is also one of our picks for the best antivirus software, as it runs quietly in the background of all of your devices and performs real-time scans to keep you safe from online threats.

I think this early Black Friday Surfshark<!–> deal is suitable for anyone who wants a reliable, easy-to-use VPN and antivirus package, and I’ve rated it appropriately as a top 4/5 deal. If Surfshark chooses to drop the price further as we get closer to Black Friday – which is possible – my rating will likely increase.

How I rated this deal
You usually pay $2.49/month, at minimum, for Surfshark One. This represents a saving of $0.30/month, which at first glance doesn’t seem all that substantial – but the discount quickly adds up over a period of 24 months.
If you opt for Surfshark’s basic plan, which only comes with a VPN, you need to pay at least $1.99/month (which is one of the lowest prices out there for a VPN already, with subscriptions elsewhere often ranging from $3.50 to upwards of $5). This deal means, however, that you are paying only $0.20/month for a solid antivirus package, which you can’t argue isn’t cheap.
That’s not to mention the added bonuses of a data breach scanner that will alert you to any new credential leaks impacting you, a private search function, alternative IDs that could help you avoid spam and data leaks, and the benefit of three free months of access.
Deals are subject to sell out or expire anytime, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Surfshark’s early Black Friday deal will likely last at least until Cyber Monday, on December 1, although it’s not guaranteed to be at the same discount level.
