Following the release of its flagship Powerbeats Pro 2, Beats expands the Powerbeats family by rebranding an old favorite and giving it welcome upgrades. The Powerbeats Fit, the successor to the Beats Fit Pro, debuts with enhanced fit, improved sound, and smarter connectivity, according to Beats.

The Powerbeats Fit sport the same IPX4 water resistance rating as their predecessor and have redesigned wingtips for improved in-ear fit, according to Beats. Beats includes four extra sets of wingtip replacements, compared to the Beats Fit Pro’s three, which should allow more people to find their preferred fit.

The Beats Fit Pro supported Spatial Audio with compatible devices, and the Powerbeats Fit expands compatibility to include FaceTime calls. Additionally, the Powerbeats Fit are equipped with Adaptive EQ, which adjusts the audio output of each earbud based on the user’s ear shape, according to Beats.

The Powerbeats Fit should provide users with an additional hour of continuous playback, as Beats claims each earbud offers seven hours of playtime and up to 30 hours with the charging case.

Otherwise, the Powerbeats Fit are similar to the older Beats Fit Pro. Both models run on Apple’s H1 headphone chip, which powers features like active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and spatial audio. This chip also provides Apple users with features such as Automatic Switching between Apple devices, Audio Sharing, Siri integration, and Find My compatibility.

Although the Powerbeats Fit’s software features are very similar to its predecessor, its redesigned fit and updated namesake are intentional, according to Beats. By integrating the Fit into the Powerbeats brand, customers can more easily choose between Beats’ earbud offerings, associating fitness-first options with the Powerbeats name, the company said in a press release.
