How did we choose these Labor Day deals?
As a member of ZDNET, I only write about deals myself or a team member would want to buy – devices and products we desire, need, or would recommend. I looked for deals that were at least 20% off (or are hardly ever on sale), using established price comparison tools and trackers to determine whether the deal is actually on sale and how frequently it drops.
I also looked over customer reviews to find out what matters to real people who already own and use the deals I recommend. These recommendations may also be based on my own testing (or testing by another ZDNET expert) – in addition to extensive research and comparison shopping. The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter.
When will these deals expire?
Deals are subject to sell out or expire at any time, though ZDNET remains committed to finding, sharing, and updating the best product deals for you to score the best savings. Our team of experts regularly checks in on the deals we share to ensure they are still live and obtainable. We’re sorry if you’ve missed out on a deal, but don’t fret – we’re constantly finding new chances to save and sharing them with you at ZDNET.com.
When is Labor Day?
Labor Day is always observed on the first Monday of September. This year, Labor Day is Monday, September 2, 2024.
Where can I shop Labor Day deals?
Labor Day deals will likely be available at nearly every major retailer and plenty of smaller chains, too. We’ve already seen early deals pop up at box stores like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy, and Amazon has tons of products discounted ahead of the holiday, too. Pretty much any place you like to shop will likely have some type of savings event or promo occurring to capitalize on the long weekend.
Which retailers have the best deals for Labor Day?
Amazon has slashed many of its flagship tech products for Labor Day, though we’ve seen better prices during Prime Day events. Other major retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and more are also offering competitive sales on TVs, laptops, tablets, and more, and with the back-to-school season still overlapping with Labor Day, it’s still a great time to nab savings on staple tech.
Labor Day vs. Black Friday: Which sales event has the better deals?
While Black Friday and the rest of Cyber Week likely offer better savings on a multitude of products across retailers than Labor Day, there’s still plenty of great deals you can nab right now. Keep in mind that after this weekend, we won’t be seeing as many large sale events until Black Friday does roll around in late November, with few exceptions like Amazon’s upcoming Prime Big Deal Days (which does require a Prime membership). If you’re looking to score savings on top tech and home items now, this may be one of the last chances for a few months until we hit the holiday season.
