This Motorola Razr deal at Best Buy is flipping awesome – here’s how to take advantage

Kerry Wan/ZDNET

Last month, Motorola unveiled three new Razr flip phones, including a first-ever ‘Ultra’ model that ZDNET’s smartphone expert Kerry Wan says is “feature-packed, fashionably styled, and unsurprisingly expensive.”

The new Razr models, which start at $799, are finally widely available in the US at retailers like Best Buy, Amazon<!–>, and Motorola–>. The devices hit shelves universally unlocked and in T-Mobile and AT&T stores on May 15. But if you’re looking to score on a lingering deal, I’d highly consider ordering from Best Buy.

Because, as it turns out, tech could just be as cyclical as fashion. Best Buy might have just resurrected the BlackBerry with its unique Razr offer by teaming up with Clicks, maker of nifty keyboard accessories for smartphones. My first true cellphone was an iPhone, but I fondly remember my parents’ BlackBerries, and I’m never mad about a throwback moment.

Now, if you’re looking to scoop up the newest Motorola Razr models, you can swipe up some keyboard-generated nostalgia, too. All you have to do is add a new Motorola Razr series phone to your cart, and a free Clicks keyboard will be added automatically. Clicks CMO and co-founder Jeff Gadway confirmed the news on LinkedIn earlier this month, saying that the Motorola Razr and Clicks keyboard are a perfect pair.

“It’s the perfect match. Clicks transforms the flip, allowing you to do more with the external display. By moving the virtual keyboard off the screen, you can tackle typing tasks like email, texts and instant messages without needing to flip Razr open. In many ways the ‘RazrBerry’ is the best BlackBerry never made,” Gadway said in his post.

Earlier this year, Clicks<!–> expanded its accessory range to include Android devices like the Pixel 9, Razr+, and Galaxy S25. Before this, Clicks was only available for iPhone models, including the latest iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max models

Mobile experts Kerry Wan and Matthew Miller have both reviewed Clicks for iPhone and were impressed with the accessory’s nostalgic tactility. While they’re not for everyone, those who crave the old-time satisfaction of clicky buttons will surely adore the Clicks experience.

Plus, another perk of purchasing from Best Buy–> is that the retailer is offering up to $500 off with qualifying trade-ins.

How I rated this deal

While this deal may not be for everyone, if you were planning to purchase any of the new Motorola Razr smartphones, you can get a free keyboard accessory from Clicks (a $139 value). Plus, if you’re trading in an eligible device at Best Buy, you can use that credit (up to $500) toward your new Motorola, making this deal all the sweeter. I’m giving this offer a 5/5 Editor’s deal rating for those reasons.
