This Lenovo 2-in-1 is great for multitasking (and is over 50% off)

Cesar Cadenas/ZDNET

We’re in the pumpkin-spiced limbo between back-to-school and Black Friday, yet somehow Walmart is already offering the Lenovo touchscreen IdeaPad 5i for a whopping $501 off, bringing the total to just $399 for a prime piece of versatile tech.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5i<!–> is a two-in-one device, that acts as a laptop and a touchscreen tablet. Its 360-degree hinge allows you to use the screen as a tablet for sketching, streaming, or easy portability. The IdeaPad features an Intel Core Ultra 5 225U processor and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card, ensuring reliable and consistent performance, even while multitasking across platforms. It also has 32GB of memory, which makes for speedy loading times and the capacity for the IdeaPad to act as a proficient gaming laptop.

We’ve covered this IdeaPad 5i before; ZDNET’s Cesar Cadenas reviewed the Pro model of the device last year. Cadenas noted the “hi-res 2K (2,048 x 1,280) OLED screen” with a “speedy refresh rate of 120Hz,” though also pointed out that the IdeaPad 5i doesn’t have much image-enhancing software, and the 1080p webcam is “passable for video calls, although its quality is quite lackluster.”

Two standout features of the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i models are the audio and the battery life. The upward-firing speakers have Dolby Atmos support, and the drivers can fill a room with unmuffled sound. While not the most cutting-edge in terms of 2025 tech, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i–> is a solid option for those interested in a 2-in-1 device that will last all day.

How I rated this deal

Any product discounted by over 50% immediately has my attention, and the IdeaPad 5i certainly seems to meet expectations. While it’s not necessarily my top recommendation for professionals who work with high-quality graphics or rely heavily on webcam calls, the IdeaPad 5i is a solid device for the standard computer user, especially at $501 off.
