How 5 simple tab tricks make your Firefox browser so much more productive

Screenshot by Jack Wallen/ZDNETI’ve used Firefox on and off for decades. I’ve always found it safe, reliable, and easy to use, but one issue has discouraged me from making it my default browser: tab management.Out of the box, Firefox’s tab management is pretty bare bones. You have tabs at the top and just a scant few features to enable/disable. That doesn’t mean you can’t give the open-source browser a helping hand. With a few extensions and features, you can improve Firefox tabs to be almost on par with the likes of Arc Browser, Opera, and Safari. Also: 5 reasons why I use Firefox when I need the most secure web browserLet me show you how.1. Pin TabsThis one should be a no-brainer. Most browsers (including Firefox) have the ability to pin tabs. Not familiar with this feature? Pinned tabs are those that you “lock” to your browser so that they are always there. Close and re-open your browser, and pinned tabs remain. Even better, the pinned tabs take up less space in your top bar, so you can save a bit of room to make all your other tabs easier to discern. To pin a tab, all you have to do is right-click the tab in question and select Pin Tab from the menu. To unpin a tab, do the same thing, only select Unpin Tab. Pinned tabs have been a part of nearly every browser I’ve used, and I can tell you that they do a great job of boosting your tab management game. More

The best portable power stations of 2024: Expert tested and reviewed

The AC240 thrives in any environment and joins its predecessor, the AC60P, in being a power station that is just as comfortable braving the rain, snow, and relentless dust as it is in the comfort of your home or office. When it comes to power stations, the AC240 is as well-made and flawless as they get, and it lives up to all the claims on the spec sheet. As part of this review, I tested the capacity, power outputs, and charge times — and everything passed with flying colors. Most of the ports are located on the front of the unit: three buttons for controlling the AC, DC, and USB outputs, and a bright, feature-packed display with important information at a glance. Review: Need backup power for when the lights go out? Check out the Bluetti AC200MAXThe unit weighs over 70 pounds, so it may not be easy for most people to carry it around for long distances. However, it does have handles on either side — resembling an ammo crate — allowing for easier movement by two people if needed. The user reviews are pretty much what I’d expect to read after using this for a few months. It’s a solid unit, a great performer, but heavy and can be noisy when charging at full power.Bluetti AC240 tech specs: Capacity: 1,536Wh | Power: 2,400 watts/3,600 watts surge | Weight: 72 pounds | Connectivity: 9 outletsOutputs3x AC Outputs2x USB-C2x USB-A12V/30A DC12V Output1 x NEMA TT-30 More

Apple needs to fix this crazy iPhone annoyance

June Wan/ZDNETI make no secret that the iPhone is one of my favorite gadgets. It is, without a doubt, the device I use the most. My iPhone is in use all the time — and if it’s not in my hand or pocket, it’s never further than an arm’s length away.Overall, I have very few complaints about my iPhone 15. Even my long-time bugbear with Apple device’s, battery life, has improved to the point that I rarely have to think about it. So much so that to preserve the longevity of my battery, I only charge my iPhone to 80% every day. Even that reduced charge gets me a full day’s use. Also: Why I limit my iPhone 15’s charge capacity to 80% (and you should, too)But I detest one feature Apple introduced with the iPhone 15– the Action Button on the side. I don’t understand the logic behind this button. At a time when Apple is stripping buttons and ports out of devices to simplify them (and simplify the production line, which in turn boosts profits), it’s strange that users have gained a new button. 3 ways to interact with Gemini from the MacOS desktop

Maria Diaz/ZDNETOn the rare occasion I need to use artificial intelligence (AI) for research purposes, I turn to Google’s Gemini. I mainly use Gemini because the AI is the default assistant on my Pixel 8 Pro and I’m used to the platform. Also: ChatGPT vs. Microsoft Copilot vs. Gemini: Which is the best AI chatbot?Of course, the Android assistant differs from the full Gemini AI platform you’d use on a desktop. But how do you interact with Gemini on MacOS? It’s easy. Let me show you a few ways.1. Web browserThis is the obvious option for accessing Gemini on MacOS. You can open your default web browser and point it to https://gemini.google.com/app. This approach gives you instant access to the Gemini platform. I recommend logging in to your Google account from the same browser, so all your queries are accessible from other devices. Also: The best AI image generators to try right nowUsing the web version of Gemini ensures you have access to all the Gemini features. Some client apps can only access the text-based query feature, so if you need access to the image generation tool, you’ll want to go down the browser route. I’ve tested Gemini on most popular web browsers and it works fine. More
