5 best iPhone 16 Pro features that will make enthusiasts jump for joy

Kerry Wan/ZDNETApple announced four new iPhones (among other things) at the “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9th. Designed from the “ground up” for Apple’s AI, we have the base model to the most souped-up: the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. There’s a deluge of new features on both the hardware and the software side, so we don’t blame you if you’re struggling to break it all down. Also: Apple just gave me a compelling reason to buy the smaller iPhone 16 Pro over the Max this yearBut which features will actually have the most impact on iPhone enthusiasts? This time around, both the 16 Pro and the 16 Pro Max are getting the high-end zoom capability. This choice means the camera is essentially the same on the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, leaving other features to differentiate the two models. 2. The camera control  More

Every iPhone model that will support Apple’s upcoming AI features (including the new Siri)

Jason Hiner/ZDNETIn what could be argued as an unsurprising turn of events, Apple is finding itself on the backfoot with AI developments this year, choosing to take its time and roll out features as they get polished and refined. While the company first unveiled its advances during WWDC, in June, it took to its recent ‘It’s Glowtime’ product launch to truly highlight how Apple Intelligence will significantly upgrade the iPhone experience. Also: I went hands-on with iPhone 16 Pro – my 3 favorite features of Apple’s pocket supercomputerThere’s a catch: the new experiences will require iOS 18, which will launch on September 16, and one of the more recent iPhone models. What are o1 and o1-mini? OpenAI’s mystery AI models are finally here

The competitive edge of the o1 models is their ability to excel at reasoning. This is due to the training approach that taught them to think before responding and, as a result, allowed them to try different strategies before landing on an answer. Therefore, the o1 model is very strong in math, science, and coding. For example, it scored 83% on the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) qualifying exam. For comparison, GPT-4o correctly solved only 13% of problems. As a result, when solving a hard or complex STEM problem, this model is your best option. Also: 10 features Apple Intelligence needs to actually compete with OpenAI and GoogleEven though this performance might lead you to believe it is a better alternative in all case scenarios, that is not the case. Because o1 is an early model, it lacks key ChatGPT features, such as internet browsing and accepting media uploads, and as a result, for now, GPT-4o remains the better option for most requests. ChatGPT Plus and Teams users can toggle between the different models depending on the prompt, so they don’t have to commit to using one or the other. To make it easier to decide which to use, OpenAI is working on a feature that allows ChatGPT to choose the best model automatically based on user prompts. More
