A reliable internet connection isn’t just a nice convenience anymore; it’s something many people rely on. For this reason, using public networks can be frustrating. Fortunately, the TravelFi JourneyGo 4G Hotspot is here to save the day. It delivers a solid internet connection wherever you go. The company is giving people more reason to rethink their travel setup by discounting the JourneyGo by a cool $50. For a limited time, you can grab this helpful accessory for $149.
When I reviewed the JourneyGo in September, I gave it our Editors’ Choice Award for the month. My review provides the full details, but here’s the CliffNotes version. The device is designed to provide strong, reliable Wi-Fi connections wherever you go. It’s capable of supporting up to 10 simultaneous device connections, tapping into nearby cellular towers and choosing the strongest available signal.

This gadget really shines in low-traffic environments, where connections are close to at-home Wi-Fi networks. The download and upload speeds of the JourneyGo aren’t very high, but they’re good enough that you’ll be able to stream movies in HD, attend online classes, and browse the internet without issue. If that’s not enough, the JourneyGo<!–> doubles as a portable power bank, offering approximately 34W of power output.
To use the device, you will need to purchase a data plan. Subscriptions start at $19 per month for 2GB of data and go up to $129 for unlimited data. The best part is it’s totally commitment-free. You can turn off the plan at any time.
How I rated this deal
As per ZDNET’s rating system, I give this deal a 3 out of 5. That $50 discount is a full quarter of the JourneyGo’s price tag gone. If you’re looking for a stable hotspot solution beyond smartphone tethering and plan to take a vacation next year, I highly recommend this device. It is one of the best value mobile Wi-Fi options out there.
