  • Withings debuted its smart scale, the Body Scan 2, at CES.
  • It measures cardiac reactivity, hypertension risk, and more.
  • It captures these biomarkers in 90 seconds.

Withings unveiled the Body Scan 2, a second-generation smart scale that measures more than 60 biomarkers, at CES 2026 on Sunday in Las Vegas.

All kinds of assessments

Body Scan 2 promises to perform all kinds of assessments that your average smart ring or smartwatch can’t do.

By using the scale’s Impedance Cardiography (ICG) and 6-lead ECG, it measures cardiac efficiency, cardiac reactivity, ECG, and heart age. Its proprietary AI model assesses a user’s hypertension risk and potential risk of glycemic dysregulation. The scale’s pulse wave velocity function measures arterial stiffness.

Lastly, an ultra-high-frequency Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) measures active cell mass and metabolic efficiency. Withings is seeking FDA clearance for select metrics used in Body Scan 2.

The smart scale allows users “to capture more biomarkers in 90 seconds than any wearable can collect in weeks,” Eric Carreel, founder and president of Withings, says in a press release.

Like other health technology devices, the scale begins by establishing baselines for these biomarkers and then detects deviations as they emerge. The scale delivers a Health Trajectory score to rate overall wellness.

Hypertension

Thanks to advances in consumer technology, hypertension, once a condition that was only measured through an arm cuff, is now being measured through all kinds of devices, from smartwatches and fitness bands to smart scales like the Body Scan 2.

This advancement makes monitoring and assessing the condition more convenient for those at risk of hypertension, a condition that often goes undiagnosed and affects more than 100 million Americans.

The app delivers insights and recommendations for the reversal of problematic biomarkers, all in the name of strengthening metabolic, cardiovascular, and cellular resilience, the press release says.

The company says the guidance offered through the scale and app pose great value during periods of cardiometabolic imbalance, whether that’s chronic stress, a sedentary lifestyle, weight gain or loss, or menopause and perimenopause.

The smart scale includes a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 15 months.

Pricing and availability

Pending FDA clearance for the aforementioned metrics, the Body Scan 2 will ship in Q2 of 2026 and retail for $600 in the US.
