Verizon will give a free Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 right now – here’s how to qualify for the deal

Sabrina Ortiz/ZDNET

Samsung has announced the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7<!–> at its most recent Unpacked 2025 event. But while these smartphones were just unveiled, we’re already seeing some killer deals that can save you some serious cash. Verizon is hosting several promotions, and one of my favorites is this BOGO (Buy One, Get One) deal.

If you purchase either the Galaxy Z Flip 7 or the Z Fold 7 on Verizon’s Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan–>, you’ll receive another Z Flip7 with 256GB of storage completely for free. There is a catch: you will need to buy another line for the second smartphone. You won’t be able to connect the extra Z Flip7 to your pre-existing line. Additionally, be aware that you cannot combine this deal with others from Verizon.

ZDNET’s Sabrina Ortiz tested the Galaxy Z Flip 7 ahead of Unpacked and had several positive remarks. Ortiz says that “the Super AMOLED FlexWindow on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 measures 4.1 inches versus the 3.4 inches on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, making it the largest ever in its series.”

“This is enabled in part by the thinner 1.5mm bezels, which are barely noticeable when looking at the screen. The larger screen experience also applies when the phone is open. The unfolded main display now measures 6.9 inches, compared to the 6.7-inch screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It’s not a night-and-day difference per se, but still an upgrade for multimedia consumption and general browsing.”

The new Z Flip 7 also features Gemini AI capabilities on the outer screen, allowing users to run multimodal queries while their Z Flip camera is turned on. This is ideal for when you’re looking for fashion advice or simply want instructions for, say, a DIY project.

Pre-orders are currently live for the latest flip phone. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7<!–> is available in three different colors: Blue Shadow, Coralred, and Jetblack. Prices start at $1,100 for the device or $30.55 a month for 36 months through Verizon Device Payment.
