“By combining Calm’s trusted content library with Ozlo’s best-in-class sleep tech, we’re enabling people to fall (and stay) asleep more easily, ensuring they wake up refreshed and ready to own the day,” Greg Justice, Calm’s chief content officer, said in a release.
Strategic partnership
Calm and Ozlo forged a partnership earlier this year when Calm came out with a new app solely dedicated to sleep, aptly named Calm Sleep. The app delivers meditation and mindfulness tools users can utilize ahead of bedtime, and it’s the first direct-to-consumer app the company has launched since Calm.

The strategic partnership between the two companies marries software (Calm’s new app) with hardware (Ozlo’s earbuds). It also aims to serve a growing number of discontented sleepers awoken by disruptions like noise.
A potential solution to unrest
According to the Sleep Foundation, noise disrupts sleep and can increase the production of adrenaline and cortisol, alongside heart rate and blood pressure within the body. This leads to sleep fragmentation, the Sleep Foundation explains, and can be one of the many reasons why people wake up in the morning feeling unrested.

The market for sleep earbuds has emerged in recent years to address the issue and sell a silent solution.
“We’re shaping the future of sleep through smart, adaptive hardware and world-class sound experiences designed to help you rest deeper and wake restored,” said N.B. Patil, Ozlo’s CEO, CTO, and co-founder.
Availability
The earbuds are available exclusively on Ozlo’s website starting Thursday.–>
