Lighting can literally make or break your home, and I am a big advocate against “the big light” (any harsh overhead lighting). Instead, I utilize lamps, candles, and other small lights to create a vibe in my home.

One of my favorite ways to add color and moodiness to my lighting setup is through GE Cync bulbs<!–>. You can control these light bulbs’ color and brightness, and they happen to be on sale for $6 off as a Black Friday deal. That’s 25% savings on a super functional buy for your home that you can’t go wrong with.

Unlike some other smart lights on the market, the GE Cync bulbs do not need to be connected to a smart hub to work in your home. All you have to do is connect them to Wi-Fi and the free Cync app, and you can control the lights directly from the app. You can set schedules for when the lights turn on, customize colors and brightness, and even set up light shows like candlelight, holiday colors, and more.

I have six of these bulbs in my home, and I am obsessed with how I can make my living room orange in the fall and dim my bedroom lights to a low level before bedtime so the light isn’t as harsh.

It’s fun to change the room’s mood with these lights and play around with the effects, and the app is easy to use. I even have a customized schedule set I turn on when I am away from home for a few nights, so the lights still turn on and off in my home (not only for safety reasons but also so my cat doesn’t have to be in the dark).

I have recommended the GE Cync smart bulbs–> to my family and friends, and at $5 off, it’s a good time to make your home more moody for fall.

How I rated this deal

Since this is a 25% off deal, I rated it as a 3/5 deal, according to ZDNET’s deal rating system. According to the deal tracking system Camel Camel Camel, the cheapest two-pack of GE Cync bulbs has been $18, so this current deal is a perfect match.
