T-Mobile will give you 4 free iPhone 16 phones right now – here’s how to get yours

Sabrina Ortiz/ZDNET

The iPhone 17 is likely on the way, but the iPhone 16 still offers plenty of reasons to pick it up, like a 27-hour battery, crash detection, and a powerful A18 processor. And right now at T-Mobile, new and existing customers can get up to four free iPhone 16 phones when you switch to the Experience Beyond plan, and the provider will even pay off your current device when you upgrade.

The iPhone 16 sports a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display for bold colors and sharp detailing for video calls and streaming, while the dual rear camera system lets you take professional-quality photos and videos for your personal albums or social media. It also uses Apple’s emergency detection and communications technology to automatically detect crashes and falls, contact emergency services, and reach out to family and friends via satellite when a 5G cellular connection isn’t available.

With 128GB of internal storage, you’ll have plenty of space for photos, videos, notes, and your favorite apps. But with iCloud connectivity, you can quickly back up your photos and other important files when you need to free up storage space on your device. The iPhone 16 is also available in five colors (pink, teal, black, white, and ultramarine), so you can show off your personal style.

How I rated this deal

While the monthly bill for the Experience Beyond plan from T-Mobile can get pricey for a family upgrade, the company is currently running a promotion for a $50 discount for 3 lines plus a 5-year price guarantee to lock in savings. The plan also includes Netflix, Apple TV+, and Hulu subscriptions, unlimited mobile hotspot usage, and access to T-Satellite powered by Starlink. And while the iPhone 16s on offer aren’t technically free since you have to pay taxes, activation, and service fees, you’re still getting a steal of an offer on a brand new iPhone 16.
