Amazon’s Prime Day sales event has made landfall. Running from October 7 to October 8, it’s rolling out some of the best discounts for 2025 on smart home devices, headphones, and especially, gaming laptops. Among the standout deals is the Lenovo Legion 5i<!–>, on sale for $1,420 – an 11% discount off its regular $1,600 price tag.

A big trend in gmaing laptops over the past couple of years has been a shift away from bulky machines towards sleeker designs that can blend into professional settings, and the Legion 5i is a prime example of this.

Powered by an Intel Core i7-14700HX processor and Nividia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, this laptop ensures smooth, engaging gameplay even in the most demanding of titles.

The Legion 5i’s visual output are stunning courtesy of the 15-inch 2.5K PureSight OLED display. Expect deep contrast, rich colors, and thanks to the 165Hz refresh rate, fluid on-screen motion. Backing it all up is 16GB of DDR5 RAM for quick load times. If you can, I recommend upgrading to 32GB of memory for even better performance.

Weighing at 4.4 pounds and measuring 13.58 x 10.05 x 0.85 inches, the Lenovo Legion 5i<!–> is compact enough for easy travel. This particular model is 13% thinner and lighter than the previous generation.

Customer reviews echo our praise. Many users applaud the laptop’s consistenly high frame rates as well as its stunning OLED display. Some buyers did note experiencing spotty Wi-Fi. Luckily, Lenovo’s device has a bult-in Ethernet port, so you can switch over to a more stable wired connection when needed.

How I rated this deal

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I grant this deal a 3/5 editor’s deal rating. And to sweeten the offer, you’ll also receive three free months of Microsoft PC Game Pass. The discount is only $180, not a big mount admiteddly. But the real value lies in the hardware you’re getting. The Intel Core i7 and GeForce RTX 5070 pairing represent current-gen components, capable of output some of the best gaming experiences available today.

As per Amazon, this deal ends on October 8 when the Prime Day sales event concludes.
